Warm seasonable temperatures combined with dry conditions will persist the next week. Isolated dry thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening for northern California and eastside area with Klamath County being favored. Periods of gusty winds combined with low RH is possible east of the Cascades Thursday afternoon and again Friday afternoon which will lead to elevated to critical fire weather conditions. Friday has the highest potential for critical fire weather conditions.

Third Thursday Open House Brings Free Art Activity to Umpqua Valley Arts

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Thrive Umpqua and Umpqua Valley Arts will host a free Third Thursday open house Thursday, July 16, offering people of all ages an opportunity to connect, create and enjoy a relaxed summer evening.
The event will run from 4:30 to 7 p.m. outside Umpqua Valley Arts at 1624 W. Harvard Avenue in Roseburg. Beverages and light snacks will be provided, along with a hands-on art activity.
This month, Rain Allen will introduce participants to the Zentangle Method, a relaxing drawing practice that uses simple, repeated patterns to create abstract designs. Attendees will learn several beginner-friendly patterns before creating their own Zentangle tile.
No previous drawing experience is needed, and all supplies will be provided. The open house is free and open to all ages.
Advance registration is available through the Third Thursday registration form.

Coleen & Co. Brings Dance-Friendly Music to Millsite Park Thursday

MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. — Myrtle Creek’s Music in the Park continues Thursday evening with a performance by Roseburg-based Coleen & Co.
The band will take the stage from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 16 at Millsite Park, bringing a lively mix of Motown, blues-rock, boogie-rock, blue-eyed soul and rock and roll. The concert is free and will offer plenty of music for those who want to get up and dance.
Thursday’s show follows a well-attended opening-night performance by That Other Band and marks the second concert in the series’ 39th season. Music in the Park concerts are scheduled on Thursday evenings through Aug. 27, with no performance planned for July 23.
Attendees can bring lawn chairs or blankets, and food will be available from vendors at the park and nearby businesses. Dogs are welcome but must remain under control, and owners are asked to clean up after them.
The Coleen & Co. performance is sponsored by Pacific Ink & Co. The concert series is presented by the Myrtle Creek-Tri City Area Chamber of Commerce.

South County Rendezvous Brings Free Resources, Meal and Family Activities to Myrtle Creek

MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. - Community members can connect with local services, enjoy a free meal and take part in family activities during the South County Rendezvous on Wednesday, July 15.
The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Harvest Christian Assembly, 227 S. Main St. in Myrtle Creek.
Around 30 community partners are expected to attend, giving residents an opportunity to learn about programs and assistance available throughout southern Douglas County. Resources will include:
- Housing and homelessness services
- Health and wellness resources
- Children and family services
- Employment and training programs
- Veterans programs
Free clothing and a community meal will also be available.
Thundering Water Upstream Healthcare will bring its WOW Truck to the event, featuring inflatable fitness activities for children, including a climbing wall and obstacle courses.
The South County Rendezvous is organized with support from the Oregon Department of Human Services and is designed to bring agencies, nonprofit organizations and residents together in one accessible location.
