Lookingglass Rural Fire District will host a family-friendly community event on Saturday, June 27, giving residents a chance to meet local volunteer firefighters, tour the fire station, and learn more about the district’s recent work and future plans.
The event will run from noon to 5 p.m. at the Lookingglass Rural Fire District station, located at 7173 Lookingglass Road in Roseburg.
The afternoon will include food, fire apparatus displays, community activities, and opportunities for residents to connect with local volunteers. Pulled pork, chicken, and hot dogs for kids will be available, with a suggested donation of $5 per plate to help support the district.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to check out recent renovations to the fire station, meet volunteer firefighters, get a closer look at fire apparatus and equipment, play cornhole, and try spraying water from a fire hose. District representatives also plan to share information about recent accomplishments and future projects.
Several partner agencies are expected to attend, depending on call volume. Invited agencies include Tenmile Rural Fire District, Central Douglas Fire & Rescue, Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Camas Valley Rural Fire District, Douglas County Emergency Management, REACH Air Ambulance, the Douglas Forest Protective Association, and others.
The Lookingglass Grange will also be present to help support the event.
Organizers said the gathering is meant to be a relaxed opportunity for families, friends, and community members to spend time with the district and learn more about the volunteers who serve the area.
