Jujuba Brings Afrobeat And Juju Music To The Half Shell Tonight

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Music on the Half Shell continues Tuesday night with the high-energy sounds of Jujuba at the Nichols Band Shell in Stewart Park.

The free concert begins at 7 p.m.

Based in Portland, Jujuba blends Nigerian Afrobeat and Juju music with West Coast funk. The group’s sound is powered by layers of percussion, a lively horn section, talking drum and a vintage-style electric rhythm section designed to keep the crowd moving.

The ensemble features Nigerian talking-drum musician Nojeem Lasisi, who previously toured and recorded with King Sunny Ade and the African Beats. Ghanaian percussionist Alex Mensah is also part of the group.

Jujuba has spent more than two decades performing its upbeat, drum-driven music throughout the region. Tuesday’s concert will mark the band’s first performance at Music on the Half Shell.

Music on the Half Shell is celebrating its 35th year of bringing free summer concerts to Roseburg. Community members gather at Stewart Park each Tuesday evening to enjoy live music, visit with neighbors and have dinner on the lawn.

The remaining 2026 concert schedule includes:

  • July 21: Garret T. Willie
  • July 28: Bella Rayne Band
  • Aug. 4: Jackie Venson
  • Aug. 11: MarchFourth Marching Band
