Glide Fire Volunteers to Host Tri-Tip Barbecue and Craft Fair Oct. 10-11

The Glide Fire Association will host two days of barbecue, crafts, and fundraising Oct. 10-11 to support the community’s volunteer fire department.

The Firemen’s Tri-Tip Barbecue and Craft Fair will be held at the Glide Community Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Local firefighters and EMTs will be there to meet community members.

The $16 tri-tip meal includes a 5-ounce serving of meat, baked beans, coleslaw, a dinner roll, and soda or bottled water. A $6 hot dog meal includes chips and a drink. Cooked, sliced tri-tip will also be available for $20 per pound.

Cash or checks are preferred. Organizers note that fees may apply to credit card purchases.

Alongside the craft fair, visitors can browse a baked goods and pie shop and enter a raffle for donated prizes. Items include a hand-sewn quilt, a Ron Campbell photo book, a Sportsman’s Warehouse gift certificate, a Medicine Flower gift basket, and artwork.

Raffle tickets cost $1 each or $10 for 11. The drawing is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. Winners do not need to be present but must pick up their prizes within 90 days.

All proceeds benefit Glide’s Volunteer Fire Department, which provides fire protection and emergency medical services. According to the association, its fundraising helps purchase supplies and other items beyond what the district’s tax funding covers.

Community members can also help by donating homemade fruit pies, cookies, candies, and bread. Organizers ask that donated pies contain no cream fillings. Baked goods can be dropped off at the Glide Community Center on Friday afternoon, Oct. 9, or early Saturday morning.

Visitors are also encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations for Glide Helping Hands.
