Douglas Avenue Closure Planned for Deer Creek Bridge Tree Trimming

ROSEBURG, Ore. - A section of Douglas Avenue will be closed for most of the day Tuesday, Aug. 4, as crews complete tree trimming near the Deer Creek Bridge.
The road will be closed between Ramp Street and Rifle Range Road from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, allow additional travel time and follow posted traffic-control signs in the area.
According to the City of Roseburg, the tree trimming will clear space for fiber-optic and other communication lines to be relocated. The utility work is part of the preparations for the Oregon Department of Transportation’s planned replacement of the Deer Creek Bridge in 2027.
The city thanked residents and motorists for their patience while the preparatory work is completed.
