DAYS CREEK, Ore. — Days Creek Charter School is welcoming Daye Stone as superintendent, marking a return home for the educator after nearly three decades in education.

Stone currently serves as superintendent and K-5 elementary principal for Prospect School District, where he has worked for the past four years. His background includes education roles in both Montana and Oregon, with seven years of teaching experience and 22 years in administration.

According to Days Creek Charter School, Stone’s previous administrative roles include elementary principal, middle school principal, high school principal, director at a community college, and superintendent. He also has experience coaching football, basketball, and track.

In a statement, Stone said he is “humbled, honored, and excited” to return home to serve the community where he grew up.

“Plainly put... I believe Days Creek is a special place where kids come first and the love for a school community is real,” Stone said.

Stone said he believes education is a journey where students build knowledge and skills by defining purpose, exploring the learning process, fostering curiosity, encouraging voice and choice, and maintaining high expectations.

“As I step into this role as Superintendent of the Days Creek School District, I am deeply honored to rejoin a community that clearly cares so much about its students, staff, and future,” Stone said.

Stone said he looks forward to listening, learning, and working alongside the Days Creek community while building on the foundation already in place.

“Together, we will focus on creating opportunities for every student to succeed, supporting our educators, and strengthening the connections that make Days Creek such a special place,” Stone said.
