Bigfoot Hunt Begins in Glide Ahead of Sasquatch Festival
Bigfoot is on the loose in Glide. The Glide Sasquatch Festival has launched a scavenger hunt with hidden Bigfoot statues at local businesses along Highway 138, giving visitors a fun reason to explore the area before the festival.
GLIDE, Ore. — Bigfoot is on the loose in Glide, and this time, people are actually supposed to go looking for him.
The Glide Sasquatch Festival has launched an area-wide scavenger hunt, with small Bigfoot statues being hidden at local businesses around the greater Glide area. The hunt is meant to bring people out to explore the community, visit local shops and have some fun before the festival arrives.
The statues are being placed at businesses along Highway 138 after milepost 15, as well as businesses located on roads that branch off the highway beyond that point.
Anyone lucky enough to find one gets to keep it.
Finders can also bring their Bigfoot statue to the merchandise booth during the Glide Sasquatch Festival to receive an extra prize. Organizers say more statues will be released each week leading up to the event, so the search will continue to grow.
Those who find a statue are encouraged to snap a photo and share it on the Glide Sasquatch Festival Facebook page.
The search is limited to businesses only. Participants should not go onto private property, yards, homes or anywhere that is not open to the public. The idea is to have fun, support local businesses and maybe go home with a little Sasquatch of your own.
The Glide Sasquatch Festival celebrates the Glide community with music, vendors, food, family activities and plenty of Bigfoot-themed fun.
Updates on the scavenger hunt and festival details can be found on the Glide Sasquatch Festival Facebook page.
