Roseburg Man Charged With First-Degree Arson After Reported Gas Leak at Apartment

A Roseburg man was arrested on arson charges following a January incident involving a reported natural gas leak at an apartment on SE Kane Street. Investigators say fire damage was found near a kitchen range and a gas line had been removed.

OSP and local agencies responded to reports of a man firing a gun from a vehicle on I-5 near milepost 128 Thursday morning. The suspect, a 53-year-old Winston man, was taken into custody after a non-injury crash. Investigators are reviewing the incident for possible bias crime elements, police said.
