Castle Fire Reaches 30% Containment as Expanded Forest Closure Takes Effect
The Castle Fire has grown to 2,758 acres and is now 30% contained. Nearly 700 personnel are strengthening fire lines ahead of hotter, drier weather. The Umpqua National Forest has also expanded its closure area, affecting roads, trails and popular recreation sites.
