Theft
Jerry Lee Nielsen, 57, cited after officers reported reviewing video in a stolen-wallet case at NW Aviation Drive; officers said he was seen taking the wallet, admitted to the theft, and was taken into custody but could not be lodged for medical reasons

Details: Officers responded to a report of a stolen wallet. Officers reviewed video footage and Nielsen was seen taking the wallet. Nielsen was contacted in his room and admitted to the theft. Nielsen was taken into custody without incident and transported to Douglas County Corrections. Due to medical reasons, Nielsen was not able to be lodged.
Disposition: Nielsen was cited and released.
Camping
Mason Andrew Murray, 24, cited after officers reported contacting him in a tent behind Cascade Self Storage off NE Diamond Lake; officers said he was in violation of the city’s time, place, and manner camping restrictions

Details: Murray was contacted in his tent that was set up just off the alley behind Cascade Self Storage. Murray was in violation of the "Time, Place and Manner" portions of the camping ordinance.

Non-Injury Traffic Crash
Jonah Crosby Hiatt, 31, cited after officers investigated a two-vehicle crash on NE Stephens Street; officers said he made an improper lane change, causing a collision, and was cited for multiple violations including driving while suspended

Details: Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash near the listed address. After investigation it was determined that Hiatt had attempted to make a lane change, causing him to collide with Gawrich. Both vehicles suffered minimal damage. Neither driver was injured and Hiatt was cited for multiple violations. Hiatt had a valid driver drive his vehicle from the scene. Gawrich was able to drive his vehicle from the scene as well.
Disposition: Hiatt was cited at the scene.
Parole Violation
Michael Albert Jarrett, 36, lodged after officers reported contacting him at SE Pine Street knowing he was absconding; officers said his parole officer authorized a detainer

Cassandra Marie Evans, 46, cited after officers reported finding a camp near Templin Beach; officers said she was in violation of time, place, and manner restrictions and began packing up the tent
