ROSEBURG, Ore. — A free public screening of the documentary HERE. IS. BETTER. will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at noon at the Roseburg Public Library.
The event is presented by the Returning Veterans Project with local support from the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians and Source One Serenity.
The full-length film follows four veterans from different backgrounds as they participate in evidence-based trauma psychotherapy for post-traumatic stress disorder, offering an inside look at their treatment and recovery. Organizers said the documentary includes perspectives that are often less visible, including women veterans and people who have lived with trauma for decades.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Amy Almond-Schmid, focusing on access to care, community support and evidence-based treatment options for veterans and their families.
Admission is free and open to veterans, family members, service providers and other community members. Light refreshments will be provided. Service providers who RSVP may be eligible to receive continuing education units.
