CANYONVILLE, Ore. — The Canyonville Community Library will host a public meet-and-greet with Dawn Rasmussen, a Democratic candidate for Oregon’s 2nd Congressional District, on Wednesday, March 18, at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The event is scheduled to take place at the library, 250 N. Main St. in Canyonville.

The event is intended to give community members a chance to hear directly from Rasmussen, ask questions and discuss issues affecting the district. Library organizers say the gathering is part of their broader effort to encourage civic engagement and community dialogue.

Library officials said the organization remains nonpartisan and does not endorse political parties, candidates or partisan causes. Instead, the library says its role is to provide information, promote civic participation and create space for respectful conversation among people with different viewpoints.

Rasmussen is one of the Democratic candidates running in Oregon’s 2nd Congressional District in the 2026 election cycle.
